From Phone Calls to Face-to-Face: EGiS Visits trueCABLE

In the cable and connectivity industry, most relationships live entirely in the digital realm—phone calls, emails, order forms. It works, but there's something fundamentally different about sitting across the table from the people who use your products every day in the field. When EGiS Technologies, a long-time customer and established Nebraska-based installation company, expressed interest in visiting our Kansas City warehouse and new testing facility, we didn't hesitate to say yes.

What followed was a day that reminded us why we do what we do.

Why Face-to-Face Still Matters

"I truly wish I had this same exact opportunity with each of our customers," says Martha, who leads our sales efforts. "Meeting with customers face to face brings a new and exciting level of connection to the relationship."

It's true. When Monte, Sam, Jake, Joel, and Chuck from EGiS walked through our doors, it felt less like a business meeting and more like catching up with colleagues who just happened to work a few states away. These weren't just names on purchase orders anymore—they were real people with real challenges, real insights, and real stories about why they started their business in the first place.

"Our customers are the heart of what we do (and why we do it)," Martha explains. "Their story matters to us and makes us better at what we do. Sometimes a simple conversation turns into the next product avenue or a way to improve a current product. That's the beauty of getting to meet and talk with our customers."

Tour Day: Opening the Doors

The EGiS team—a mix of hands-on installers and management, including owner Monte V. Monteleagre and his family members who help run the company—came with three clear objectives: meet our team in person, build the foundation for a long-term relationship, and gain a deeper understanding of our product line.

After initial introductions and lunch, we dove into what they really came to see. Nathan guided them through our warehouse operations, showing them how we manage inventory and fulfill orders. Then came the main event: our newly built testing facility.

For a company that takes quality seriously, the testing lab represents our commitment made tangible. It's where theory meets measurement, where marketing claims get validated (or don't), and where we can confidently stand behind what we sell. The EGiS team spent significant time here, asking questions and examining our testing protocols.

Don then led a technical deep-dive, focusing particularly on RJ45 modular plugs and best practices for termination. For installers who do this work daily, these details matter. A slightly easier termination process or a more reliable connection can translate to hours saved across dozens of jobs.

What They Saw, What We Learned

From EGiS's perspective, the visit exceeded expectations. In their feedback, they highlighted three things that stood out:

Commitment to quality: "Your attention to manufacturing standards and rigorous product testing exceeded expectations," they wrote. The testing facility particularly resonated—so much so that they're considering implementing something similar in their own office.

Dedication to learning: Our online training and knowledge-sharing resources demonstrated what they called "a drive to further industry expertise."

Passion and culture: Perhaps most meaningfully, they noted "the clear enthusiasm for your craft gave us confidence in our choice to partner with you."

"It was a fantastic opportunity to look 'under the hood' of a vendor and see a small business that is confident, passionate, and committed to the industry," their feedback continued. "It reminded us of ourselves—and made us excited to continue supporting you."

But here's the thing about these visits: the learning goes both ways.

From our perspective, getting unfiltered feedback from field installers is invaluable. They validated things we already believed about our products—particularly praising how easy some of our cables are to pull and how well they perform during installation. They loved the EZ Termination tool and suggested a replaceable tool head could make it even better. These are the insights you simply can't get from a phone call or email.

Validation That Matters

For Dave on our technical team, the visit provided something intangible but crucial: "The big takeaway was a personal feeling...like everything we are doing as a company is really showing up in the field and the feedback we got from them validated who we are, what we do, and the products we sell."

Ben echoed this sentiment: "We gave them the perspective and viewpoint that we are very much so invested in our products and customers. They got to see that we do performance testing, evaluate quality, and stand behind what we sell."

This kind of validation matters. In an industry where anyone can make claims about quality or performance, having field professionals who stake their reputation on every job affirm that your products deliver—that's real credibility.

"It was refreshing to see your team open to suggestions from those of us using your products in the field," the EGiS team wrote. "Many companies in this space can feel faceless, but with trueCABLE we truly felt heard."

Looking Forward

The visit concluded with both teams energized about next steps. We're planning continued training opportunities, potentially including a reciprocal visit to the EGiS facility in Nebraska. We're also proud to recommend EGiS as a trusted local installer for anyone in their region who needs reliable, knowledgeable professionals.

As EGiS put it in their feedback: "EGiS is more successful because of our partnership with trueCABLE. EGiS is proud to use trueCABLE products because of their commitment to quality, learning, and listening to the people who rely on them every day."

For us, that's the ultimate measure of success—not just making a sale, but building relationships with professionals whose work depends on the quality and reliability of what we provide.

If you're an installer, integrator, or contractor who's curious about what we do and how we do it, we'd love to hear from you. Because at the end of the day, customer feedback doesn't just make us better—it drives everything we do.
